beautiFRIDAY: Make P:rem Peel me. Radiance Peeling Sleeping Pack

Written by Dee | 26 January 2018

beautiFRIDAY: Make P:rem Peel me. Radiance Peeling Sleeping PackI have a pretty low maintenance skincare routine but I find that with the cooler temperature, my face occasionally needs some additional hydration that allows me to try out new products. On today’s beautiFRIDAY adventure, I tried out Make P:rem Peel me. Radiance Peeling Sleeping Pack.

This is my first experience with a sleeping mask. Basically, a sleeping mask comes at the end of your nightly skincare routine, a cream or gel that you put on right before you go to sleep that locks in the all the moisture from the previous steps that you’ve done.

The Make P:rem Radiance Peeling Sleeping Pack is a gel-type moisturizer and sleeping cream that works overnight to smooth, soothe, and deeply hydrating your skin. Then you rinse it off in the morning. The smell of the Sleeping Pack is clean and fresh. When you initially put the blue gel on it goes on smooth but thick and it feels cool. I did wait a bit for it to start absorbing before going to lay down. Surprisingly, it didn’t stick to my pillows. After I washed it off in the morning, my skin felt soft, rejuvenated and plump.

Would I buy this again?

Yes, I would because the next morning after I washed it off my face felt really soft and hydrated. I also noticed that the longer I use it that my skin feels smoother and my skin looks brighter.  I like that the Make P:rem Peel me. Radiance Peeling Sleeping Pack is gentle on my sensitive skin and yet clears up any potential break outs brewing as well as any associated redness.

beautiFRIDAY: Olive Young’s The R U Real Branch?

On the last beautiFRIDAY article, I reviewed Olive Young’s The R U Real Poppy face mask.  On this week’s beautiFRIDAY adventure, I tried out The R U Real Branch? face mask from Olive Young.  I wanted to review these masks back to back since they both are from the adorable movie “Trolls”.  These masks are pretty much identical in texture, had the same amount of serum and had that creepy but semi cute troll face pattern.

The Branch mask is made to help reduce wrinkles, which we all know, is my favorite type of mask.  I didn’t expect much from this mask, considering I felt like this was more for fun and amusement and to possibly scare other people with your new troll face.  But I was impressed with the results.  As always, most facemask leave behind that “facemask glow” but I did notice an improvement to my pores.  The mask was lightly scented, but for some reason, I couldn’t figure out the scent.  But it was nice and refreshing.

Would I buy this again?

Yes!  I know, you are probably as shocked as I am.  While I do have mask that help my pores, I was intrigued with the results this mask produce.  So much so, I think I’m going to buy a few and see how well it helps with reducing wrinkles.  Of course, this will take a few months to figure out, but when I figure out the results, I will update you.

Have you tried this mask?  Which Olive Young Troll mask was your favorite?

beautiFRIDAY: Olive Young: The R U REAL Poppy?

Now that Christmas is over, I needed some me time and do a little selfcare.  I’ve been lacking on my skincare routine due to my schedule but now that the rush is over, I’m going to do a mini at home spa treatment.  After prepping my face, I tore open a face mask and enjoyed a nice quiet 20 minute break.  On today’s BeautiFRIDAY adventure, I tried out Olive Young’s The R U REAL Poppy?

According to the back of the product, this will moisturize and brighten my face.  The mask has a nice light floral scent and a decent amount of serum in the packet.  The mask itself is comical.  I couldn’t help but laugh when I saw what I looked like.  I wouldn’t say I looked like Poppy but you know that’s the look it was going for.  I got to “wear” her floral crown and have similar facial features as the loveable troll character.  After 20 minutes, I took off the mask and patted the extra serum onto my face and use all the left-over serum on my arms and legs.  As I have said before, after most face mask, my face had a nice glow that lasted a few hours after I took off the product.

Would I buy this again?

Probably not.  Why?  The product is a good face mask that did the job, but unless it was on sale, mask with animal or movie prints are just not my thing.  I guess I do get embarrassed occasionally.  Which I know is weird to hear from a girl who wears a face mask in public but these masks will only be worn at home, when no one is there.

beautiFRIDAY: PUREDERM Vitalizing Orange Pads

beautiFRIDAY: PUREDERM Vitalizing Orange Pads

It’s been windy lately and my face, especially my cheeks have been feeling the effects.  I needed something to help my cheekbones stay hydrated and bright during the winter season.  PUREDERM luckily had these affordable Vitalizing Orange Pads made especially for the cheek area.  A few months ago, I did a review on their cucumber pads and loved the outcome.  (Check out the review HERE).  I definitely had high hopes for this one.  According to their website, PUREDERM Vitalizing Orange Pads “are formulated with skin re-energizing ingredients such as orange, ginseng, ginkgo and aloe extract.”  Which are perfect ingredients for re-energizing my face.

When I opened the product, the scent of orange filled the air.  It was light but noticeably orange scented.  I don’t think the scent is too strong and while I had it on my face I didn’t feel overwhelmed with the scent.  Like the cucumber pads, it had a cooling sensation.  Which felt absolutely wonderful on my windburned face.  My favorite part, the packaging.  I love this packaging.  They have a nice press and seal closure, to keep your product fresh.   After 15 minutes I removed the product and patted in the extra serum.  I used this product for 5 days straight, and I loved the way my skin felt after using this product.  My cheeks looked and felt rejuvenated and had that summer glow.

Would I buy this again?

Yes, I would.  This product is affordable and worked liked a charm.  Like all face mask, the glow is temporary, but after 3 days, I noticed a difference in my cheeks.  With continue use, you will see a difference.  Now that my cheeks have improved, I will most likely be using this 3-4 times a week to keep my cheeks hydrated during the winter.

beautiFRIDAY: Dr. Jart+ Vital Hydra Solution

It’s that time of year when my face becomes more dry than oily, my lips are chapped, and my skin care regime needs a little change.  Luckily, there are a few items to help keep your face fresh, bright and keep that glow you love so much.  On today’s BeautiFriday adventure, I explore Dr. Jart+ Vital Hydra Solution Sheet Mast.

This mask is a deep hydrating mask which is perfect for this type of weather.  The face sheet has a nice fresh clean scent that lightly lingered while I had the mask on.  The mask wasn’t drenched in serum, but it had enough to cover my face, neck, arms and hands.  Which is still lot.  After 20 minutes, my skin felt cool, refreshed and hydrated.  It left behind a nice healthy glow and my dry skin was rejuvenated.

Would I buy this again?

Yes, I would.  My face felt and looked hydrated and in the morning I still had that nice dewy look.  I loved the way my face felt after, it was soft and fresh looking.  I’m very tempted to try this mask during the day to see how long the dewy look would last.  And for those who don’t like the scent of florals, this mask is perfect for you.

beautiFRIDAY: A:CONCEPT Lipstick (Rose Brown)

Written by Ji | 17 November 2017

beautiFRIDAY: A:CONCEPT Lipstick

On the last BeautiFriday article, I reviewed A:CONCEPT Shape of My Face Triple Contour and loved how well the product blended.  Check out the review HERE.  I try to remain unbiased when I try out new products, but I’ve been loving their contour compact, so I had high hopes when I tried out this lipstick.

The lipstick is lightly scented and had a nice medium pigmentation.  Sadly, on my lips the color was not a rose brown, but more of a coral.  Which is not bad and perfect for the spring and summer, but I was hoping for a rose brown color.  But if you check out the website it does state that the color is between a rose and coral.  When buying a product, it’s always good to read the print.  I for one, did not. My fault.

I drink a lot of water throughout the day, so the product didn’t last as long as I hoped.  Within 2 hours, it was already fading, and I needed to touch up quite frequently.  But I did learn a few things from the touch up.  The product is great as a base, it’s easy to blend and if you set it, it will last much longer. Lastly, I wanted to make a note about the packaging.  I loved the bottom half (even though it felt very light.  I would have loved a heavier case.), but the top, the transparent plastic part (at least for me), ruin the aesthetic.   It made it look cheap. If they could change a few things about this packaging, I would be more incline to buy.

Would I buy this again?

Maybe.  I know the article seemed negative, but in all honesty, it’s an affordable lipstick with a nice smooth finish that produced a decent color on my lips.  I would love to try out the other colors as well, to try to find my color.  When choosing a lipstick, I normally buy it because of the color and quality of the product.  While I did like the color of the lipstick, I did not like the plastic top.  It shouldn’t bother me, and I should give the product another go, but the plastic top really doesn’t help sell this product (at least to me).  But you never know, maybe when I finish this product, I may end up buying another.  If I do, I will let you know.

beautiFRIDAY: A:CONCEPT Shape of My Face Triple Contour

Written by Ji | 03 November 2017

A:CONCEPT is a relatively new company in Korea that was established in 2013.  They are a company I know very little of and don’t see much of in my local stores.  With little research, I was able to find out more information on the company and where to buy these products.  I first heard about A:CONCEPT at KCON (LA).  They handed out full size products for following their social media page and for posting a picture.  I don’t know about you, but for a full-size product I would have done more.

I like the packaging.  It’s black, light weight and simple.  For me, I like simple packaging because I don’t need it to have unnecessary embellishments that make the compact heavier or oddly shaped where it’s difficult to fit the product into my makeup bag.

I was happy with the pigmentation of the compact.  I find it easier to contour when the pigmentation isn’t too strong or sheer.  This is a good medium coloration that is easy to blend.  Not only can I use this compact for contouring, I used it for my eyebrows and for eyeshadow.  With this type of versatility, this product is a winner.

Would I buy this again?

Yes, I would.  It’s a great to go compact, perfect to bring to work for touch ups or on vacation.  You can pretty much use it on your eyes, face and eyebrows.  Now if this compact had an extra compartment for a mini brush, gold glitter (for a little pop of color for the eyes) and a lighter highlighter, my makeup life would be so much easier.  Well, at least in theory.

Have you tried A:CONCEPT Shape of my Face Contour?  What were your thoughts on it?

beautiFRIDAY: BOTANIC HEAL BOH 360 Lifting Solution

On this week’s BeautiFRIDAY, I tried out Botanic Heal BOH 360 Lifting Solution.  My weekend is booked with 2 family events and 1 social event.  So of course, I had to up my skin care game to make sure my skin looked flawless and healthy.

Before I even opened the package, I knew this was going to be a thick sheet mask.  I could feel the thickness of the sheet through the packaging.  When I opened the package, there was a nice light floral aroma.  The face mask was indeed thicker than most face mask and I loved it.  I feel like thicker mask tend to hold the serum better, its less messy, and you don’t feel like you’re going to rip it.  One of the best attributes about this mask is that it has ear holes and its covers your neck as well.  Normally, I would use the extra serum and apply it on my neck.  With this mask, I don’t need too and can use the extra serum else where.

After 20 minutes, I took off the face mask and examine my face.  I don’t think I have ever tried a face mask where you didn’t have that “face mask glow” after.  But I can honestly say, that for most of the day, my skin felt great and even more importantly it does every the package said it would do.

Would I buy this again?

Yes.  I have to rethink my face mask game and try to incorporate this mask to my skin care regime because this mask exceeded my expectations.  From the thickness and design of the sheet, to how much product they packed into the mask.  This face mask is now a contender to be one of my favorite go to mask.

beautiFRIDAY: The Face Shop CC Cushion Ultra Moist

beautiFRIDAY: The Face Shop CC Cushion Ultra Moist

On the last BeautiFriday article, I wrote about The Face Shop CC Long-Lasting Cushion.  On this week’s BeautiFriday adventure I tried out The Face Shop CC Cushion Ultra Moist.   Normally The Face Shop has a sale on their cushions, buy one, get one free.  They didn’t have a refill on my shade for the Long-Lasting Cushion but they did have it on their Ultra Moist collection.  I was more than willing to try another compact, that way I can see which one will fit me the best.

I did try this product out at KCON and after KCON when it was cooler to see how the temperature would affect the foundation.  When I first applied the foundation, I didn’t use any primer.  I always like to see what the foundation can do on its own.  At KCON, this foundation lasted 2 hours, and it was not a pretty site.  The foundation was coming off my face.  Luckily, I brought some primer and setting spray, just in case.  After I redid my foundation with the primer and setting spray, the foundation only lasted about 4-5 hours.  It’s safe to say, for oily skin like mine, this foundation is most likely not for you.

Now let’s talk about this foundation and the cooler weather in the fall.  This is actually a good solid CC for this type of weather (after using primer and setting spray).  It gives a nice glow and brightens your face.  But again, it has light coverage and it still needs to be retouched a few times daily.

Would I buy this again?

Most likely not.  I have a lot of CC’s that will brighten my face, leaves a nice glow and will last a long time.  But for the price, it’s not a bad cushion.  But if you have oily skin like mine, this is one cushion that might have a hard time staying on your face.

beautiFRIDAY: The Face Shop CC Long-Lasting Cushion

On today’s beautiFRIDAY adventure, I tried out The Face Shop CC Long-Lasting Cushion.  For some reason, I decided KCON would be the best time to try out a new foundation.  I don’t know about you, but when I go to events, I always use my favorite go to products.  Trying a new formula could be risky.  But this would be a good time, to fully test out just how long this Cushion will last.

I was impressed with the medium coverage and how long the product lasted.  Did it last all day? The simple answer is no.  But the summer weather was hot, I was sweating and no setting spray or powder was used.  I wanted to get a feel for what this cushion could do on its own.  And surprisingly it held up well.  After 4 hours, I did need to touch up.  The next day, I decided to use a setting powder and also used a mattifying spray to seal everything in.  The cushion lasted all day at the convention, and I only had to touch up a few spots before the concert.

Would I buy this again?

Yes,  I would.  The Face Shop CC Long-Lasting Cushion is affordable and the packaging is on point.  The refill is sold separately, but my local store normally has a deal where you get the refill free when you buy the full set.  So for $25, this is steal.
